It's great to meet you!

First, a confession. I am much more comfy behind the camera than in front of it. You too? If so, not to worry. I know what it feels like to be uncertain about packing up the family and investing time and treasure in a photography session and all the expectations that comes with it. You want to look your best, you want your family to be on their best behavior. You want beautiful results that show love and joy and fun and connection.

While I can't promise your family will behave perfectly or that we won't accidentally wade through some muck at the beach and hilariously carry on with stinky feet (oops, did that), what I can tell you is that family photographs are priceless. Not for the perfect alignment of poses, pristine smiles, the perfect size or style or hair color or coordinated outfits. They are priceless right now, for the capture of this moment, who you are right now, for allowing your children to see themselves surrounded in love and as one of you. They are priceless later, as your family grows and changes and there are movings on in more ways than one.

Please don't wait. Ultimately, your dress size won't matter. The gap in your child's smile will be precious. The glare from the teen will be a memory of a time in your family's making. Don't wait for your preschooler to grow out of insisting on always wearing the bright red boots with everything, or for your teen to get braces off. Don't wait for any of those things. You are who you are and you are perfectly you. Objects of comfort or affection are personality traits of your loved one, and why wouldn't you want to see and remember that? Same for the moods, truly. And I say that as a mom of a moody teen and a tween trending right that way too.

So let me encourage you to set aside the personal insecurities, the worry that your family isn't in the right place right now, and just take the photos. You won't regret it. And you know what? When things change, as they certainly will, it will be time already for a refreshed session and to look back at the old and reminisce with some conversations of "remember when".

Sessions are laid back, not rushed, and there is time for play and even a snack if needed. I am happy to help with styling advice if you'd like, but there is absolutely no pressure to be anything but yourselves.

Feeling uncertain or unsure what to expect or have specific worries? Please reach out, I am happy to answer questions and work with you to plan a session in a place and at a time and in a way that makes you and your family feel the love and enjoy your time together. You for sure deserve it.
