Things to know

Where and when are minis?

Minis are currently held at my home, "outdoors" at the edge of my garage. Social distancing applies, I wear a mask, and sanitize.

Minis are by appointment only. Prepayment of $45 per student is due at the time of booking and is nonrefundable (this helps me avoid no-shows). Your payment includes digital download of your student's gallery. Prints, products, and sibling galleries are available for additional, separate purchase.

Don't see a date or time that works for you? Gather a group of 8 or more and I can come to you.

How many pictures will we receive?

You will receive a digital gallery of about 5 (and often more) images presented in both color and black and white. I can never say for sure how many, because every child is different. Some are really, really comfortable in front of a camera and will be super expressive. When that happens, there will be more images to choose from. Others are quietly beautiful and just may have fewer different expressions to choose from. I won't force kids to smile, so you will receive images that are authentically your child. Usually we get a smile, but honestly, some of my favorite portraits happen when we don't.

When will we get our photos?

Within two weeks of your session you will receive a link to your online gallery. There you will review your photos, and your digital gallery will be available for download. For a limited time following your gallery delivery, you will also be able to select prints or products to purchase, or purchase a sibling session gallery.

Do you offer prints?

When you receive your gallery by email, you have an opportunity to purchase prints and gallery-wrapped canvas. The ordering phase is open for 7 days. Print prices start at $8. Print packages, and canvas are all available for order within your gallery.

What about siblings?

I love siblings, and the sibling connection. School portraits are individual, with time for a sibling group as well. Sibling session images are available to purchase as prints or as a separate downloadable gallery.

Can we get a family photo too?

Sorry, school portraits are just for kids. I would love to meet your whole family for a session, though! Please see my family session info and use the contact page to be in touch with questions or to book your family session.

What should my child wear?

Your child should definitely show his or her personality! However, I strongly recommend avoiding logos or character prints, or other distractions on clothing. Really super bright neon type colors can also be a distraction and potentially give a color cast to the skin. Images will be from about shoulders or mid-chest up, so no need to worry about shoes and whatnot. Kind of like a Zoom class call!

Do pay attention to wiping faces beforehand. Picture day isn't the day for a blue lollipop or a pile of oreos on the way!

A note on Transition lenses

If your child wears glasses with transition lenses, consider bringing a back up pair of regular glasses to your session to avoid the darkened effect of these special lenses when outside.

I have a school or group, will you come to us?

Yes! Gather a group or get your school involved, and I can come to you with my simple set up. Please use my contact form to be in touch and get more information and to get on the schedule.

For groups, no pre-payment is necessary. Parents will have a gallery to view and can choose prints, print packages, canvas, or digitals.

Groups can be a neighborhood group, a small preschool, a learning pod, daycare, homeschool, parent/tot group, or any other gathering of kids.
